Profit® Hot Chamber Machines feature a
sophisticated two-speed shot system
which results in superior quality,
virtually flashless castings.

Profit® Hot Chamber Machines are
designed for reliable quality and fully automated operation. Therefore,
the standard shot control system is
designed to provide maximum plunger
velocity for high-speed injection. In the two-speed system, the slow
shot is controlled by a digital
timer. When shot is initiated,
the plunger moves at a preset "slow
speed". When the timer reaches the set
point, the plunger
accelerates to the preset "fast speed". Plunger velocity is controlled by a
hard stop setting in the pilot-operated hydraulic check
valves (P.O.C.). In turn, these P.O.C.
valves control the orifice
openings of the "low speed" and "fast speed"
hydraulic
flow control
valves.
The result is virtually flashless
castings which require very little, if any, secondary operations.
When you consider the time and labor this will save you, the difference
is very considerable!
This system is sophisticated enough to be extremely reliable and
consistent and yet it is easy to maintain and service. Machine startup and
day-to-day operation have also been simplified to make operation as easy as
possible.
The shot end
on Profit® Hot Chamber Machines
features a rugged water-cooled A-frame assembly, containing the vertical
shot cylinder, plunger, gooseneck and nozzle, together with a
melting/holding furnace. As apposed to
regular
"all cast" standard goosenecks which have inherent low flow efficiency,
Profit® machines have goosenecks
which
feature cast-in stainless steel
pipes. This design allows
for constant bore shape and diameter, smooth surface, and controlled bends
which achieve excellent flow efficiency. The A-frame is equipped with
travel
cylinders to break the nozzle from
the die. The nozzle is available in a gas-fired or electrically heated
version. Both
versions come
with a temperature controller. Also available is an optional electric
melting/holding furnace.
